Actually for all those saying that dating someone with aspergers must be bad or brutal or any of that. Your wrong. I have fallen in love with a girl I might when I was in highschool. I was a senior she was a freshman. We became good friends. Recently we started dating. And all I can say is yeah the relationship was a little bumpy at first but after learning. Our relationship is stronger than any other I have been in. I love her with every fiber of my being. And I plan on marrying her some day.
I'm having a very hard time in my relationship right now. My ...I honestly don't know if we're together or not anymore...he wasn't clear. Anyways, he has AS. We've been dating on and off for over 10 years now. I'm very much in love with him. I've been reading so much about AS so that I can understand him better and sometimes I forget. Sometimes he'll say something or do something that seems hurtful, like sitting on the computer (he's really into them) all day while I sit on the bed and wait for him to come spend time with me.
He lives in Scotland, I'm in USA. We met online a very long time ago and have been seeing eachother since. We broke up once before in 2010 and I never really understood why. I was very hurt because it was so sudden and I thought we were fine. Only sign I saw was that he was getting more and more quiet. I vanished. I blocked him online, changed my info. He found me a couple years later somehow and told me that he missed me a lot and that he made a huge mistake.
I made him promise me to talk to me about what he is feeling, if he's confused about something, or anything really, I never want to be surprised like that again because honestly I've never been more hurt.
Well...same thing happened. I just got home from seeing him and he sends me a text stating that this time felt different and he's not sure why he feels that way. A lot was going on, his sister was getting married and there were dozens of people over all of the time to set up and party. I knew it bothered him that all those people were around. When we were alone he seemed okay, we cuddled and talked and had romantic moments.
I don't know what went wrong, I don't know if I did something or not. I'm really wondering if he was just upset about all of those people around, the setup and parties went on for the entire month of July.
I'm lost. There's only one person I've been in love with and dreamt about being with forever and it's him. I know he loves me, there's no way he would chase after me for 10 years if he didn't. I just don't know what to do.
