Manny Pacquiao will make his boxing comeback this weekend when he challenges Jessie Vargas for the WBO world welterweight title in Las Vegas. The Filipino was last in action in April when he faced Timothy Bradley Jnr before he announced his retirement for a foray into politics. This isn't to be an easy boxing for both boxer.

The fighters are due out at 9.30pm UK time, and you can watch the whole event live with MirrorSport. Manny Pacquiao and Jessie Vargas will step onto the scales at 9:30pm UK time for the weigh-in ahead of Saturday's WBO welterweight fight in Las Vegas. The Filipino fighter will make his official comeback to boxing with the title bout at the city's Thomas and Mack Center on November 5th in the early hours of the morning. He has been preparing for the fight, billed as 'The legend vs The Champ, at Hollywood's Wildcard Gym, and was visited earlier this week by Sylvester Stallone, who certainly knows a thing or two about getting into the ring.

Jessie Vargas, though, shouldn’t be blamed for this. Vargas (27-1, 10 KOs) is an emerging champion who has been given a rare opportunity: the chance to enhance his standing in the sport and bank account in equal measure. Boxing is brutal and its politics are corrupt, but Vargas has essentially won the lottery.

Manny Pacquiao enters his fight against Jessie Vargas as a significant favorite, and the reasons for this are obvious. Whether it’s experience, boxing skills, ring IQ or any other meaningful category/attribute other than age and size, Pacquiao (58-6-2, 38 KOs) appears to have a decisive edge.

It will be a great fight.

Pacquiao is not the force he once was, but he still has too much experience, skill and speed for Vargas. Pacquiao's last stoppage win was seven years ago, so a wide points-decision victory is more likely.

Anything Vargas can do, Pacquiao can do much better -- even at 37. As long as Pacquiao can avoid that one big right hand, Vargas isn't quick or dynamic enough to upset him.

Pacquiao by decision
Pacquiao is in the twilight of a great career, while Vargas is just coming into his own. Vargas is performing with a solidness and confidence of a top fighter who has developed a coy delivery system for his right hand. But at the end of the day, the ultra-athletic Pacquiao will be a bit too fast for a solid-but-still-one-dimensional Vargas. Pacman wins a decision after surviving a scare where he is shaken.

Despite the odds against him, Vargas will give Pacquiao a good fight but fall short on the scorecards. Manny's speed and experience at the top level should be enough to win around eight of the 12 rounds.

Some of the best comments that casual boxing fans said on the weigh-in video:

Vargas before u brag ur belts dont forget manny is a former flyweight, junior featherweight , featherweight, junior lightweight, lightweight, juniorwelter weight, 2 time welterweight and junior middleweight champion of the f**** world

Manny started fighting at 107 and came up and did all that ... That's insane he gotta be recognized for that a lot of people don't see how incredible that is.

I wish that people would stop exaggerating. Everyone likes to refer to the "2009 Pacquiao" that ko'd a poorly conditioned/drug abusing/weight fluctuating/unmotivated version of Hatton, as if Manny would be able to take out 'anyone' in that same fashion.

If anything, Vargas would actually have a better chance at beating Manny in 2009 because Manny took more risks back then, and his overall skillset wasn't as refined as it is today.

No dont talk about my one and only sports hero he make the world to look at Philippines and Filipino with high regard you see Pacquiao is the one and only boxer from Philippines to ever be great we don't have base ball hero or basketball hero or football hero or soccer hero or any other sport hero and i would be butt hurt if the world were to find out that my one and only hope that my one and only sports hero was only good because of performance enhancement drugs OOH NOO i will go on line and fight and defend and argue for my kababayan.

What do you think about the fight? There's gonna be rolling and clashing of fists, dont forget to share this!
