H O M EAugust 10 - The Philippine Basketball team under the banner of "Gilas Pilipinas" makes another big history tonight by defeating South Korea in utmost spirits and undying heart. The Gilas team nailing a big win to be on the final championship battle of FIBA ASIA 2013. In the end of the game, the Gilas Pilipinas finally outlast the South Korea with 86-79 scores. Big wins come from the biggest heart!
For Championship game, it is accessible at Gilas Pilipinas vs Iran for the finals of FIBA 2013. Gilas Pilipinas lost to Iran with 85-71 score.

Coach Reyes was very proud of these guys en route to the last 3 minutes of the 4th quarter that made the game most thrilled by which the Gilas Pilipinas down by 2 points against the Korean. Many thought that the outcome would likely be repeated just like their lost against the Chinese Taipe but their hearts told them to win this match and they did. The wholesome crowd of Mall of Asia Arena gave all the support to Gilas Pilipinas and didn't give up to believe the Philippine team will rise again. The Gilas now will meet Iran in the FIBA 2013 Championship round. They are also qualified the FIBA World Championship 2014 in Spain.
It was an eyed-teary to most of the 18 thousand plus crowd in Mall of Asia who witnessed the win for Gilas earning the final championship battle and FIBA Basketball World Cup 2014 qualification. The last time that the Philippine Basketball team made an appearance of FIBA World Championship was 1978. It's been 35 years since the Philippines hasn't appears on FIBA and this would be one of the great moments for Philippine Basketball team who added another history in our basketball arena.
