H O M EMr. Ronniel de Guzman on his child JM's whereabouts: “He’s somewhere, not yet stable but getting better. A couple of more months and he will be alright. perhaps by December, he will be retrieved. He will be a better man when he emerges and he himself will notify the entire factual story.”
“He is not well-off but surely he’s not dirt poor,” ang naging answer ng ama ni JM de Guzman na si Ronniel sa balitang nanlilimahid at pakalat-kalat ang anak at diumano'y namamalimos na lang para sa kanyang pamasahe.
Sa kuwento ni Mang Ronniel kay Ricky Lo sa pillar nitong Funfare sa Philippine celebrity ngayong Sabado, July 6, sinabi nitong nasasaktan siya sa mga naglabasang intriga patungkol sa anak.
Aniya, “As a dad, I am hurt by those untrue tales. Like any dad, I love my son.”
Ang ama ni JM ay table editor ng Tempo tabloid.
Sinabi pa nito na nakakasiguro siyang malalampasan ng anak ang mga pinagdadaanan nito.
Kuwento pa niya, “Malalampasan niya ang mga demonyo sa buhay niya.”
THE BREAK-UP. Ang hiwalayan nga ba nina JM at ang dating girlfriend nito of two years na si Jessy Mendiola ang isa sa pinakamalaking dahilan kung bakit napariwara ito diumano?
Tugon ni Mang Ronniel, “I don’t want to accuse any person for what occurred to JM. He’s 24 and, like any adult, he’s responsible for his actions.”
Dagdag pa niya, “I can say that JM was not ever rude to me or to anybody. He didn’t hassle any person.
“If at all, sarili lang niya ang naperhuwisyo niya. I love my son so much that’s why it injures me to read or hear bad stories about him that are not true.”
“As I said, JM is not dirt poor. celebrity illusion [with which JM is under contract] is taking care of his earnings as it does with those of other agreement stars.
“Ten per hundred of what JM was profits from his displays, gigs and shopping centre tours have been set aside as his savings at the BDO branch in ABS-CBN and he will not remove from it without the consent of [Johnny] Mr. M. [Manahan].
“Nagpapasalamat nga ako sa ABS-CBN na nagtatabi sila ng pera ng mga agreement stars nila. I want to make it clear that JM doesn’t support our family. His profits are his own.”
SECOND-HAND FORD. Last month lang daw ay nakabili ang anak niya ng second-hand Ford sa halagang P350.000.
Kaya daw, sabi pa ni Mang Ronniel, “So I guess he can proceed round in his personal car,” taliwas sa mga naglabasang balitang sumasakay diumano sa mga bus si JM at pumupuwesto sa bandang likuran habang naggi-gitara sa buong biyahe.
Dagdag pa ng ama, “He has furthermore his personal savings sa ATM. He was so little when he was a kid that we jokingly called him Butiki.”
Sa tanong kung “emotionally feeble” ba ang kanyang anak, sagot ni Mang Ronniel, “Yes, kaya nga mahusay siyang artista because he is emotional. Otherwise, rather than of evolving an creative person, he would have become a banker.”
Sa ngayon daw ay nagpapagaling pa si JM kaya minabuti nilang hindi na ituloy ang proyektong Pedro Calungsod para sa 2013 Metro Manila movie carnival.
Dagdag pa ni Mang Ronniel, “He’s somewhere, not yet steady but getting better. A few more months and he will be okay.

Huling nakita daw ni Mang Ronniel ang anak may dalawang linggo na ang nakaraan.
Pagtatapos niyang saad, “He increased his left arm and provided me the calm sign, I told him how much I love him.”
