Before Kim Chiu's mother, Louella Chiu-Yap, past away last Sunday, the player and her siblings searched to spend time with the estranged constituent of their family as she lay in a coma at the clinic.
This was the distributing of Lakam Chiu, Kim's older sister, in an interview on "Showbiz Inside Report" aired Saturday.
"Minakesure calling lahat na magkakapatid na nasabi namin ang gusto calling masabi, na para naman lang sa mommy namin," said Lakam, who is the eldest of five siblings.
"Si Kim, bilang close kasi siya sa mom ko, talagang 'I love you' nang 'I love you,' 'yung parang nami-miss mo bonding ng mother-daughter. Alam mo 'yung naglo-long ka na sana mas marami pang time na magkasama kayo," Lakam said.
Kim had been estranged from her mother since she was nine years old, when her parents divided. The player and her siblings grew up in the care of their paternal grandmother.
Early this year, the actress and her dad, William Chiu, Jr., organised to reunite after not broadcasting for five years.
Louella, according to her former colleague, had opted not to announce their young kids of her whereabouts even as she was currently suffering from an sickness.
William said Louella had inquired her caretakers not to contact Kim and her siblings regardless of her status. But the caretakers finally reached out to the player when her mother slipped into a coma.
Referring to Kim, William said, "She would arrive every dawn and come back to Manila in the morning for work and back again here in Cebu [to spend time with her mom]."
Last Sunday, Louella past away at age 50 due to aneurysm. She was prepared to rest Saturday forenoon at Cebu Memorial Park, with her close associates and family, including Kim, in attendance.
Lakam, in her interview aired Saturday, furthermore came to the protecting against of Kim, who had to leave for Thailand for a fire throughout her mom's seven-day wake.
"May mga certain firm pledges kasi. Being expert naman din at being artista, ginampanan ni Kim ang kailangan niyang gampanan," the eldest Chiu sibling said.
William said Kim, who has yet to speak on camera about her mother's death, discussed that she be allowed to come back home previous than arranged to attend the funeral on Saturday.
