Daniel, Yeng and Abra obtained their plaques from OPM leader Ogie Alcasid on Friday night, June 7, at the Pagcor Grand Theater. Julie Anne was missing as she is actually on holiday in New York.
According to an interview by Philippine Daily Inquirer, OPM leader Ogie Alcasid said that the four OPM Ambassadors will make it their operation to boost the youth to recognise with Original Pilipino melodies rather than of foreign acts.
“We’re trying our best to push initial Filipino melodies ahead, and we identify the importance of reaching out to the youth. We desire to construct a powerful connection with them. We realise the detail that they [Daniel, Julie Anne, Yeng and Abra] willingly provided us their endorsement. We need their help,” he said.
