ABS-CBN head person Eugenio “Gabby” Lopez III, together with former and present ABS-CBN reporters, were officially ascribed by Quezon town court on Friday, June 14, in relative to the libel case filed against them by GMA Network 9 years before.
According to a report by Balitanghali, the Quezon town Regional Trial Court (RTC) officially read the libel allegations on Friday, June 14, against ABS-CBN head person Eugenio “Gabby” Lopez III, ABS-CBN report journalists Annie Eugenio, Dondi Garcia, Lynda Jumilla, Maria Progena Estonillo Reyes, Jose Ramon Olives, Jesus Maderazo, and previous ABS-CBN workers Beth Frondoso, Erwin Tulfo, Luis Alejandro, Jose Magsaysay Jr., Alfonso Marquez, and Luchi Cruz-Valdes who is now TV5′s News head.
The charges were for the two enumerations of libel filed by GMA-7 in 2004 against the above-mentioned party after describing in their primetime newscast that the Kapuso mesh used the videos of their report treatment without consent and for utilising the words “nagnanakaw ng aming eksklusibong kuha” and other defamatory periods.
On July 22, 2004, ABS-CBN aired a breaking news featuring the arrival of OFW Angelo dela Cruz in Manila after being abducted by Iraqi militants.
