The 26th SEA Games 2011 competition held in Palembang, Indonesia has just ended after the two weeks game in action from the South East Asian countries namely; Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, Timor-Leste, and Brunei.
With the host country Indonesia garnered the most golds ever had and awarded as the grand slam champion celebrating their victory just recently. Earning the second placer was Thailand, then third was Vietnam, fourth Malaysia, fifth Singapore, and only Philippines at top 6th down with the rest.
The Philippines, with only 36 golds, 56 silvers and 77 bronzes to show, the Filipinos limped home at sixth, their worst finish since 1977, when they first joined the Games. They also landed sixth in Thailand four years ago, but they did better then with a 41-91-96 medal tally. They failed to get the 70 Golds prediction before the SEA Games has come to start.
Congratulations to all the winners of this historical event specially to Indonesians who garnered the 10th overall championship with a medal hoard of 182 golds, 151 silvers and 143 bronzes.
To our country Philippines, come back strong for another SEA Games event this 2013 that will be held in Myanmar.
